Jody Samuel
Jody is the founder of Y chromosome and the passion behind the business. Originally from the UK he served in the elite Parachute Regiment for several years before pursuing a career in IT. He was tired of life in the UK and that sent him on a path of travel in search of a new home. He emigrated to New Zealand in 2006.
When life in the IT industry was not giving him what he needed, Jody sought out a new career. He retrained as a commercial diver in 2008 and started work in the oil & gas industry. During this time Jody took a year out and retrained again, this time in the field of yoga and meditation, where he studied in China under the expertise of Lance Schuler. Jody returned to the oil & gas industry and continued to build his career, but despite high salary and a good position he felt unfulfilled.
In March 2019, searching for something more to life, Jody enrolled in the Mankind Project Warrior Training. It was here, surrounded by other men that he found his courage to be vulnerable and embrace the experience, ultimately discovering his path. Shortly after completing the training he handed in his notice to pursue his purpose of coaching and helping other men to find their courage and direction. He has completed a diploma program in life coaching and is a certified mBIT coach.
Jody's unique style of coaching and focus comes from years of experience, personal development, sole searching, proven work with men and various methodologies from a number of different neuroscience fields.
He lives in New Plymouth with his soul mate Peggy Preston.
